Takuma Sato won the 2017 Indy 500 and will be in the 14th position this year. He takes some time out of his busy schedule to chat with DD about his strategy on the track, how racing has changed, and how he likes his chances this year.

On the way racing has changed for younger or older drivers:

"I thin that it can change both ways. The cars are phyiscally faster than they used to be. When you go to the cornering, at the IMS, we are going full speed at every single corner. You lose three pounds of your body weight after the race. The IMS isn't the most physically demanding track, but when you get to age 50 or 60, I don't think you can keep it up. But at age 40, you can still achieve that path both physically and mentally as long as you are really motivated.

On his position at the 2019 Indy 500:

"I like the car. Definently better than last year where we are today. For the ultimate speeding qualifying, we achieved only 14th, but we still have a great chance."

The Indy 500 is quickly approaching and 1070 The Fan has you stocked up with all the latest news, interviews, and analysis from the speedway!
