On the Colts win against Kansas City...

“When I saw the defensive backs were and how beat up they were, I thought no way. You didn't think Kansas City was only going to score one touchdown. I thought Collinsworth said two good things:  one, it was one of the best defensive efforts by a coaching staff he’s ever seen. And secondly, of all the talents of Pat Mahomes, the most important was his mobility and it was not the same. Full credit to the Colts, their pressure was the reason he got hurt.  Their tackling and their pursuit all led to his injury and they did a job and a half. that's a win you can hang onto for a long time.”

On the rest of the AFC...

"They are clearly the best teams in the AFC as they don’t look like they have stepped down from last year.  But then who is the best team then. Buffalo at four and one? Their quarterback is making young quarterback mistakes and they haven't looked solid or dependable on offense.  And can they score 30 points on someone. Houston is coming around, Tennessee is too material up and down, the Chargers are getting off to a poor start and don’t look like the Chargers from last year’s playoffs.  The Raiders have been playing good ball and the Colts are a step up from them. They could be a legitimate argument for the third best team in the AFC.”

Does a one loss Notre Dame team jump undefeated teams in the playoff race?...

“No. I think that group is going to give you three of four unbeaten teams this year.  College football has changed to a professional division, a division where people are actually enrolling kids in class is different from a larger school.  The playing field is different for the likes of a Notre Dame. Notre Dame can only recruit 100 kids out of 300 of the top recruits just based on academics, period.  You can't hide them in South Bend. There is not a major you can try to hide them in. The schools that are playing like semi-pro teams like Georgia, Clemson and Alabama, they have academics where they are are to pick from a much larger bucket.  The have and the have nots are separating even from the traditional programs.”
