Is there a path to victory for the Colts against the Chiefs?

That’s the question on the mind of Colts fans as we near kickoff of Sunday’s Week 3 matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs at Lucas Oil Stadium.

The Colts have looked down right putrid in 6 quarters of football to start the season, with the lone bright spot being their 2nd Half performance against the Houston Texans that gave them their first tie since moving to Indy.

On the other side, the Chiefs haven’t skipped a beat since trading away star wide receiver Tyreek Hill during the offseason. They throttled Arizona in Week 1 and outlasted their division rival, the Los Angeles Chargers, last Thursday night.

Led by generational quarterback Patrick Mahomes, the Chiefs are as formidable an opponent as any to welcome in for a team’s home opener.

But is there hope for the Colts? Sure it’s an any given Sunday league, but do they actually have a shot to pull off the upset against a true contender for the Vince Lombardi Trophy.

They’ll have reinforcements in the form of Alec Pierce and Michael Pittman Jr., though they’ll still be without star linebacker Shaq Leonard.

Combined with Jonathan Taylor, is the return of Pierce and Pittman Jr. enough to keep the Colts in the game and give them a chance to win?

Friday on The Dan Dakich Show we turned to two of our favorites in The Fan’s own Kevin Bowen and Larra Overton of the Colts Radio Network.

During Dan’s conversations with Kevin and Larra we discussed:

  • a potential blueprint to defeat the Chiefs that worked in 2019 for Frank Reich and the Colts
  • how critical Jonathan Taylor is for a Colts upset
  • what the Colts can do to attempt to contain Mahomes
  • where the team’s mentality is following the shutout loss to the Jaguars

Listen to Dan’s full conversations with Kevin and Larra below and keep being apart of The Dan Dakich Show, weekdays 12-3pm Eastern, right here on The Fan.
