Reporting from the Colts practice facility, Kevin Bowen has been seeing a rocky start between some players on offense for the Colts early in the day. He calls into to talk to Scot Pollard and Jeff Rickard who are filling for DD. he talks about what he has seen so far through the day and how Funchess has been filling into this offense.
What has happened so far from this day of OTA’s?
It was a day that mostly the defense won, mostly red zone work. We did see Andrew Luck out there today, he’ll be out all week with a calf strain. I’d say the most entertaining highlight of the day came between Devin Funchess and Jacoby Brissett jawing back and forth. Those two were certainly not on the same page today, very spirited and filled with a few profanities as well. Those two were not getting along on the field at all today and not something you usually see from the Colts and I think that has always has been something that Devin Funchess has had, a bit of a diva in him in Carolina and I think we saw that come out today. To be fair to Devin Funchess, I thought Jacoby Brissett has had more of the erratic practice days I’ve seen from him. I’ve watched him practice over various levels over the past couple years.”
How much is the team missing without Andrew Luck not there being able to get in sync?
“I would say that is a storyline that won’t be checked off in the spring. We’ll see if he participates in the next two weeks, the Colts still say that he will but even if he does he won’t get a ton of work in compared to what we thought he would get.”
