On Sunday, the Indianapolis Colts fell to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers by a score of 38-31. The Colts led the Bucs 24-14 at halftime before being outscored 24-7 in the final two quarters.

The topic of conversation all week on The Dan Dakich Show has revolved around the play calling of Frank Reich and the utilization, or lack thereof, of star running back Jonathan Taylor. On Thursday’s show, Matt Taylor, radio play-by-play voice of the Indianapolis Colts provided context to the 26 straight pass plays that the Colts ran:

“I think it’s all about context here. People look at the box score and see Taylor only had 80-something yards and the Colts threw the ball 26 straight times but 14 of those 26 passes occurred right before the end of the half in the two minute drill. You’re not going to run the ball there and you scored a touchdown.”

We’ll see what happens with the play calling on Sunday when the Colts take on the Texans.

You can listen to Dan’s full conversation with Matt Taylor that includes Frank Reich, the other mistakes flying under the radar and much more.
