Last Sunday was not the most ideal start for the Indianapolis Colts offensive line against the Seattle Seahawks. The line allowed quarterback Carson Wentz to be hit ten times while being sacked three times. Following that performance, three-time defensive player of the year award winner in defensive tackle Aaron Donald of the Las Angeles Rams is licking his chops to make his presence felt. Staff writer for therams.com in Stu Jackson hopped on the Dan Dakich Show Wednesday to discuss what makes Donald so special.

“I honestly think it’s just the footwork that he has. You would think he’s a defensive back with the way he moves his feet, it’s incredible.”

The question teams have been asking the last seven seasons since Donald was drafted by the Rams in 2014 is, “How do we slow him down?” or “How do we stop a guy like that from wrecking the game?”

“Double-team, triple-team, and I think I have seen someone post an image on Twitter of quadruple team. That’s really the best way to go about it. Sometimes teams will leave Aaron Donald go one-on-one, but with the way Leonard Floyd has been playing at EDGE and some of these other guys as well, that’s not always the best decision to make.” Jackson added.

Despite all the focus the Colts will give Donald this weekend, Frank Reich and company can’t forget that two-time First-Team All-Pro cornerback Jalen Ramsey and underrated cornerback Darious Williams will be lined up on the outside attempting to lock down Colts receivers Sunday afternoon.

The easiest way to put it is that the entire Colts offense will have their hands full in effort to prevent starting the season 0-2 for the first time since 2017.
