The face of the Pacers is now the face of a major clothing line.

Oladipo tops the list of NBA players who will rock Express clothes to promote their NBA brand this year. The other players include Hawks rookie Trae Young, his teammate John Collins, Denver Nuggets shooting guard Jamal Murray, and Orlando Magic rookie Mo Bamba.

From bizjournals.com:

“This one will be a multimedia campaign emphasizing the Express Performance Collection. It will start this month on Express’ digital, social media and in-store platforms, as well as the NBA’s digital and social media platforms. Express will have a presence at the 2019 NBA All-Star Game in Charlotte, N.C., as well.

The tie between the the retailer and league is going beyond a few athletes wearing the clothes this year. Express, for the first time, also will have an NBA-licensed collection that launches next month online and in select stores.”

I know what you’re thinking.

“Oh no. Not the GQ picture from 2014 all over again. NOOOOOO!”

This is different. It’s different for a few reasons.

1. The season hasn’t even started yet. This photoshoot/campaign probably started over the summer, far away from the 2018-2019 Pacers team.

2. Vic has always been fashionable, even before he popped off last season.

3. Steph Curry donned Express before his MVP season in 2014, and Kris Bryant became an Express “athlete” the year the Cubs won the World Series. Victor and the Pacers will be OK if the Cubs can overcome to finally get the job done.

Plus, the 2014 GQ photoshoot was just…weird. George Hill in a half-buttoned shirt and a beanie? Paul George wearing a cutoff shirt like he’s a 17-year-old meathead hitting the bench press drinking a protein shake? David West in a GQ photshoot AT ALL?!

That just didn’t make sense.

This does. Good for Vic. Hopefully this season is like his fashion – feathery
