At the NFL owners meetings there were numerous topics that came up: the Washington Football Team’s investigation, Deshaun Watson and countless other hot button topics that commissioner Roger Goodell had to answer to but one that could affect Indy came from a tweet by NFL Network reporter Tom Pelissero:

So while the Combine will return in full to downtown Indianapolis in 2022, the future seems to be murky at best going forward.  This isn’t the first we’ve heard of the combine potentially venturing out to other cities and locations.  The NFL is a business and the NFL owners see potential dollar signs in just about everything related to the shield, but is the combine really a money-making opportunity the league hasn’t exploited yet or are they being blinded by the glitz and glamour that comes from the like of the NFL Draft and Super Bowl?  There were plenty of strong opinions and thoughts on Wednesday’s Fan Morning Show as Kevin Bowen, Brendan King, Marc Dykton and callers all weighed in.

“Unlike the Draft or the Super Bowl, it is a very intense 3-4 day process.  A very efficient process that this city has down to a science.  I just don’t think you mess with it and if you go elsewhere I think you’ll see a lot of griping from NFL GMs and coaches.”  – Kevin Bowen
