The Colts are heading into Nashville this Sunday to take on the division rival Tennessee Titans.  It was already a huge game, as an 0-3 start could truly put the Colts season on thin ice less than a month in.  Add to the fact that they are more than likely going to be without starting quarterback Carson Wentz only amplifies the need for a full team effort to overcome quickly mounting odds.  The assumption was if Wentz can’t go, then it will be Jacob Eason under center.  Not so fast, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero:

Brett Hundley? A guy who barely did anything in training camp or preseason may get the nod over Eason, a 2020 fourth round pick?  Brett Hundley? A guy who hasn’t played in a regular season game since 2019?  Yes, apparently that Brett Hundley could be under center over Jacob Eason on Sunday afternoon in Nashville.  What does that say about the confidence the Colts have in Jacob Eason?  Well, it isn’t good to put it lightly.

On Thursday’s edition of The Fan Morning Show, Kevin Bowen and Brendan King debated the chance that Hundley gets the nod over Eason. Kevin said the chance that the Colts decide to play both Eason and Hundley gave him flashbacks to the 2015 season:

“If you’re going to play both guys, it’s like what you did with [Josh] Freeman and [Ryan] Lindley to end the 2015 season.”

Needless to say, we are quickly climbing the DEFCON chart when it comes to quarterback play and it couldn’t come at a worse time, with the arch-rival Titans up next.
