If you ever need an energy boost you can do away with the morning coffee or Monster and just listen to Colts linebacker Darius Leonard talk and you’ll be running through brick walls before your breakfast burrito cools off.  The man they call “The Maniac” has been a leader on the Colts defense, a fan favorite on ‘Hard Knocks’ and is a candidate for Defensive Player of the Year.  So what makes him tick and what did he think of the atmosphere at Lucas Oil Stadium against the hated New England Patriots on Saturday night?  Well, he joined Kevin & Query on Monday morning and talked about all of it.

“That stadium was absolutely rocking! It was the loudest I heard from the pre-game run out to the final play.  We need it like that every single home game!” – Darius Leonard

Leonard also said while he uses motivation every where he can, he’s his own worst critic.

“My goals that I have for myself are ten times harder than any other linebacker in the league.  I set my goals high.  My bad years are good years for some linebackers.” Darius Leonard

The Colts linebacker also noted that he’s taken up boxing, which explains his ability to punch out the ball and create turnovers with such regularity and force this season.  He was thrilled for his alma mater, the South Carolina State Bulldogs, to get a win over Jackson State over the weekend and his thoughts on the team being featured on ‘Hard Knocks’ and opening up about more personal stories.
