Sunday’s 23-20 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders had a whole lot of everything except a Colts win.  It was a game which felt like a playoff game given the fans knowledge of the “win and you’re in” stakes for their favorite team, it was likely the last game at Lucas Oil Stadium for long-time wide receiver and team leader T.Y. Hilton, Carson Wentz showed some flash and some agony, Jonathan Taylor broke the franchise’s single-season rushing record and the game saw multiple lead changes ultimately ending with Raiders kicker Daniel Carlson kicking the game-winning 33-yard field goal to give the Raiders what many would consider an upset win.

Carson Wentz was not particularly impressive, completing 16-of-27 passes for 148 yards and a touchdown and missing on some throws, most evident in an overthrown ball to a wide-open T.Y. Hilton in the third quarter that, had it been completed, would almost assuredly have gone for a touchdown.  All is not lost however, as a win against the aimless Jacksonville Jaguars to round out the season will lock the Colts into the postseason.  The Colts shouldn’t lose but at the same time they haven’t won in Jacksonville since 2014.

Kevin Bowen and Jake Query broke the loss down with KB calling it “their worst performance since Week 3” while Jake compared it to returning to school after the long holiday break, a feeling of just blah.

When ESPN analyst and former Colts center Jeff Saturday joined the show for his weekly appearance he pumped the brakes on any long-term concern and called the loss a “hiccup” rather than anything more serious.

The Colts head into the regular season finale against the Jaguars currently as the 6th seed in the AFC and a win will lock them into a postseason berth along with their 10th win.  We’ll preview the game all week on Kevin & Query, which you can listen to every weekday morning from 7-10 on 93.5 & 107.5 The Fan and to listen to the full interview with Jeff Saturday, click the link below.
