Former NBA player Scott Pollard joins The Fan Morning Show with Jeff and Big Joe. Scott talks with the fellas about the NBA Finals and Stanley Cup Finals. With all the injuries that are going on, Scott talks about his time playing, and playing through injuries.
On trusting Klay Thompson to play through injury :
” Never trust a player that tells you they can go, because we all can go. Because it’s the NBA finals are you really going to look and ask a player if they can play? Of course there going to say yes. It’s the NBA Finals, theres no bigger time to say, yeah I can suck it up and go Coach, don’t give my minutes to anyone else.”
On Strategy of Raptors attacking Klay Thompson :
” There going to force him into awkward positions and try to make him drive the basketball more, as opposed to just shooting threes. There gonna have to make him work on defense. Make him run through screens as a defender and make him fight through and keep him moving. You want to get him in foul trouble early, so he has to sit down because once a muscle cools down it’s done.
