INDIANAPOLIS – The NFL is the ultimate reality show and on Saturday night Andrew Luck, of all people, pulled the ultimate plot twist.

On a night Luck was on the field mingling with coaches, teammates, and watching the Colts preseason game from the home sideline, the NFL world shook with news of him retiring from the NFL.

Adam Schefter of ESPN reported that Luck told the Colts he was retiring from the NFL.

It’s one of the most shocking news stories in sports history.

Just a few weeks shy of his 30th birthday, Luck’s NFL career comes to an end after 8 NFL seasons. Luck had 3 years remaining on his original $140 million contract.

The news broke early in the 4th quarter of the Colts and Bears playing at Lucas Oil Stadium.
