INDIANAPOLIS – The man once labeled a ‘throw in’ is now an All-Star.
When Paul George was traded for Victor Oladipo and Domantas Sabonis, it was the former lottery pick from Lithuania who many viewed as an afterthought.
Sabonis is no longer this.
Certainly not after he was named to his first career All-Star game on Thursday night.
Eastern Conference coaches named Sabonis a reserve to this year’s game, which will take place February 16th in Chicago.
In his 4th NBA season, Sabonis has averaged 18.0 points per game, 12.8 rebounds and 4.6 assists.
He’s become a full-time starter and has proven to be one of the most skilled big men in the entire league.
