JMV is joined by Jeremiah Johnson to talk all things Pacers and NBA. They discuss the newest Pacer, Malcom Brogdon, expectations, Victor Oladipo, the free agency trades, Domantas Sabonis, Myles Turner, RJ Barrett's summer league start, and more.

On the excitement of getting Malcom Brogdon:

"With every introductory press conference there is going to be some natural positivity, but I think that Kevin Pritchard took that next level by calling it an 'epic day' and an 'epic signing' two or three times. I think even the one that stands out to me that I will probably ask McMillan about in the middle of the season or in training camp to recreate for me is the story that they told. He got off the plane on the Sunday that free agency was starting, or maybe the next day, and he knew some options that were available but I don't think that he thought that Malcom Brogdon would be possible, and Kevin said he told him the news when he got off the plane and Nate McMillan let out a big scream. I just can't see that! I have known Nate now for four or five years and he can get after guys, he can be a happy guy, but I have never seen or thought of him to let out a big 'wohoo!' I have never heard that, so for them to tell that story and then really Nate was gushing about the opportunity to coach Malcom Brogdon. Now there are some expectation levels that go along with this signing but I like that, I'd rather have there be expectation levels than have none."

On the current 'Golden Era' of the NBA:

"Is it a golden era? I don't know. I think that what I like about this upcoming NBA season is that there is not a clear favorite. I do see a lot of two superstars lining up together on maybe six or seven different teams. I lump the Pacers and Utah in a different category where it seems like maybe they have got four A minus type of players, and that is not meant to disparage any of them, but they are not the guy that is maybe on top of the headline but if you can combine a team together with those kind of players that you can compete with one that is built around the two superstars. I would have not liked it if Kawhi would have ended up with the Lakers and you would have had three of maybe to the top six players in the league on the same team. I would have not been a fan of that. I am not necessarily also a fan of players forcing their way out of franchises. I didn't like when Paul did it, I don't like it that he did it to the people of Oklahoma City, but I think you have to deal with it the best you can. The Pacers dealt with their situation, the Thunder are dealing with theirs, but I think this upcoming season will be one that will have as much anticipation as any for more teams. It is not just looking forward to seeing the big three in Miami or looking forward to Golden State games. I think your random Pacers, Blazers, game is going to be interesting. I think when the Clippers battle the Bucks, I mean that is going to be huge. There are a lot of matchups that I think you can point to and put on and set your DVR that you don't want to miss."
