The Athletic’s Bob Kravitz joins JMV to discuss everything Pacers. He gives his take on the Pacers’ draft pick, on the way the league has gone, on who he believed they wanted at pick number four, Ricky Rubio, free agency and the path they should take, and more.

On the Pacers’ draft pick:

“I was confused by it, honestly. Look, I love European players generally speaking because of the way they learn the game at a very young age. They don’t do the whole AAU thing, they really learn skill development and all that stuff. But the last time I checked the roster, they already have two bigs. So, I am trying to figure out how they are going to play all these guys and who is going to be your four. The idea of Domas as a four makes me shiver. I don’t think Myles is a four in any way shape or form. So, what I think is going to happen…I think with Domas in line for a pretty big pay day after next year, I think if the top guys really develop, I think Domas is going to be on the trading block. This team has so many openings, so many holes that they need to fill but they need to fill it now and it is a good thing they have some money in free agency so we will see how that goes.”

On the path that they should take in free agency:

“I think your first priority, you got to bring Bojan back. So much of whatever else you do, is going to be predicate for if Bogdanovic is in a Pacers uniform next season. I like the T.J. Warren trade that isn’t a trade yet. This is a guy that averaged 18 and shot about 40 something percent from three. He can play the three or the four and he gives them a nice bit of insurance should Bojan not come back. It doesn’t sound like they will bring back Thad Young, so I think that was a fine move to get an 18 point per game starter.”
