It's Ask ATI time with Brad Howell of ATI Physical Therapy and Dr. David Myer!

JMV is joined by ATI Physical Therapy's Brad Howell and Dr. David Myer for the Ask ATI Question of the Day! The guys break down the different types of sports injuries, how they  are handled, and what makes it all so complex.

On Jabaal Sheard's injury concerns:

Dr. Myer: "Not really knowing the specifics of the injury, it just depends on what you're dealing with. If it's something like an MCL sprain or a colateral ligament sprain, which is a spain on the side of the knee, it really depends on pain relief and how stable a knee is and how quickly you can get your strength back. Ultimately that is what's involved in returning to play is making sure that you aren't going to sustain another injury."

On determing when a player is good to go:

Howell: "The first thing is that you're looking at pain-free benchmarks. You're looking at low level therapy benchmarks. When you get them out into sports specific activities in regards to balance and running and deceleration, that really gives you confidence that they're pain free and they're making progress."

As the season gets going JMV and his team of medical experts will keep you up-to-date with all the latest injury news for the Colts and the entire NFL!
