INDIANAPOLIS – For the second time this season, the Purdue Boilermakers took down a top 5 team as they took down #3 Michigan State 40-29 in Ross-Ade Stadium on Saturday. Star WR David Bell had another outing that shows why he is worthy of the Biletnikoff Award, given to the top WR in College Football. Bell had 11 catches for 217 yards and a TD that pushed him to over 1,000 yards on the season in only 8 games.

Purdue is now 6-3 and still has a chance at the Big Ten Championship game with a 4-2 Big Ten record. David joined JMV on Monday to talk about the goals for the team still being in front of them:

” I think we’re right on the mark. Our goal is to go to the Big Ten Championship and we’re still in that race.”

Purdue got off to a 2-2 start in Big Ten play and have rattled off 3 straight wins so JMV wanted to know “what was the turning point for this team?” While most fans may think it was the win in Iowa City vs the then #2 Hawkeyes, David said it was a play in another game that gave the Boilermakers confidence in how they’re playing:

“I think it was the interception last week that Jalen Graham had vs Nebraska that gave us a spark to finish that game strong and carry the momentum over to Michigan State.”

Purdue has another tough matchup this Saturday as #5 Ohio State in Columbus to keep their Big Ten West Championship hopes alive. Check out the rest of David’s interview with JMV below!
