Get to know Eric Fisher off the football field

As we all know a former 1st overall draft pick Eric Fisher is no longer a player who plays for the Kansas City Chiefs and is now fulfilling a huge need at left tackle for the Indianapolis Colts.

Over the past few weeks, we have heard many things about Fisher when it stays on the football side of things.

We thought it would be great to share a few things about Eric Fisher that he loves to do or be a part of outside of his time on the field to help you get to know him a little more.

Let’s start off with the basic information about Eric Fisher who goes by the nickname “Fish”.

  • Born: January 5, 1991 (30 years old) Rochester, MI
  • Height: 6’7”
  • Weight: 310 lbs
  • Year drafted: 2013 (first overall)
  • College: Central Michigan University (2009 – 2012)

Being born in Michigan Fish claims and fulfills the role as an outdoorsman off the field. Fish loves to Fish (imagine that), Fish loves to work on cars, and Fish loves to hunt!

It looks like Indiana is not too far from home for Fisher so he should be able to get back to his roots during the offseason very easily.

After sharing some of Fisher’s hobbies with you it did not take long for us to want to get back to talking about his success and history on the field. Here is some football information you might like about Fish, especially being under 100 days till the first snap of Colts regular season football!

  • Coming out of high school Fish was only a two star recruit (due to lack of size)
  • Went on to play at Central Michigan University
  • Third-team All-American (2011)
  • First team All-American (2012)
  • First team All-MAC (2012)
  • Became the 1st MAC player to ever be drafted 1st overall
  • 2013 (drafted 1st overall by the chiefs)
  • 2x Pro Bowler (2018, 2020)
  • Super Bowl Champion (LIV)
  • Signed as a free agent by the Colts (2021)

If you were curious, Eric Fisher has also caught a touchdown pass! After watching Quenton Nelson run the ball a couple of times already during his career, are the Colts considering adding skill players on the line too? We’re joking.

Let’s look forward to getting to know Eric Fisher as a Colt!
