We had a feeling it wouldn’t be the case anyway, but Jim Irsay might’ve just put the nail in the coffin on the Quenton Nelson moving to left tackle idea.

Irsay retweeted this from Stephen Holder.

On The Ride with JMV earlier on, Holder and JMV clashed on whether or not Nelson should be moved. Holder got the comments of former pros on the subject. And of course JMV has been a proponent to the plan all along.

But it seems like Mr. Irsay has voiced his opinion.

“It doesn’t seem like it’s going to occur because the former offensive linemen that Holder spoke to were not high on the idea,” JMV said. “That pops the balloon and unofficially sticks a fork in my theory.”

It was a good run JMV.

But does the conversation of the number 21 overall selection now officially focus on a new left tackle? It should be a no brainer.

Plus, you have Nelson’s old buddy Liam Eichenberg in South Bend who is vouching to be a first round selection. By the time we get to #21, that may be entering Eichenberg territory.
