The #1 question all Colts fans had about 2021 season during the summer was whether or not Colts Head Coach Frank Reich and his staff would be able to bring back the 2017 version of Carson Wentz when he was an MVP caliber player. Fans assumed that behind an offensive line of Erik Fisher, Quenton Nelson, Ryan Kelly, Mark Glowinski, and Braden Smith that Wentz would be playing behind the most talented OL of his career.

Due to injuries, the projected Colts OL has played 0 snaps together through two games and as a result Wentz has already been hit 21 times and sacked 6 times. JMV has been impressed by Wentz’s play so far and put the onus on the offensive line to keep the QB healthy after Wentz had to leave the game in the 4th quarter due to an ankle injury:

“Carson Wentz has been the least of this teams issue and can you imagine without Carson Wentz what this mess might look like. The dude is throwing himself all over the place either trying to get first downs by stretching head first, or he’s getting twisted down by the best defensive player we’ve seen in the last 10 or 15 years. He’s under siege the entire time because of a group that’s supposed to be your strong suit. That can’t happen. That shouldn’t happen. You’ve got 5 years of Chris (Ballard), 4 years of Reich, we should be well past this with this team.”

Frank Reich met with the local media Monday afternoon and wouldn’t say whether or not Wentz would be ready to go vs AFC South rival Tennessee.

Keep it tuned into 93.5 and 107.5 The Fan all week as we wait and see the status of the impressive QB through the first 2 weeks of the season!
