A full breakdown of the 2022 College Football Playoff National Championship Game between the Georgia Bulldogs and Alabama Crimson Tide will soon follow. But before we talk about Monday night on the field from the Natty, we must discuss the environment.

Lucas Oil Stadium last night was arguably the loudest I have ever heard it.

Now I get that I haven’t been around here as long as others, but when you bring the SEC to Downtown Indy, they’re bound to show out. Kevin Bowen and I each agreed that the crowd for the game was at least 70/30 Georgia fans to Bama fans. But even so, Roll Tide Nation never quivered.

They were about as loud as you were going to get, and boy did they bring it.

I’ve never attended a National Championship game before; And that’s in any sport.

What we witnessed tonight in the specially made for Monday auxiliary press box at Lucas Oil was nothing short of remarkable. Shoutout to every single person that made this thing happen.

From the top with the Executive Director of the CFP Bill Hancock, his team, Visit Indy, Indiana Sports Corp, restaurants, bars, vendors, janitors, and every other person in between, this was a team effort.

We don’t just grow basketball here. We cultivate sports history.

From March Madness until now, it hasn’t even been a year with all of this stuff. Indy continues to show out, and we showed the world that cold weather National Championships are possible. Scratch that, not just possible; But more than attainable.

When you put together some of the smartest minds in sports advertisements, planning, and creativty, you’re bound to strike gold. From free concerts featuring, AJR, Doja Cat, Ava Max, Twenty One Pilots, and Sam Hunt, to the convention center’s massive display, to Georgia Street bumping constantly and so much more, Indy did this thing right.

Congrats Hoosiers, you’ve got yourself another spotlight. What’s next? Gee, that’s just the fun of all of this.

Go Dawgs. Roll Tide. Indy Strong.
