When Carson Wentz was traded from the Philadelphia Eagles to the Indianapolis Colts, it must have felt like ascending to heaven and standing outside of the golden gates.

The days of being sacked 50 times a season were over. He just inherited one of the best offensive lines in football, with one of the best running back rooms in the league, while being lead by his favorite coach of all time.

Perfect right?

No.

The honeymoon phase of Wentz being reunited with Frank Reich is already over. That’s what training camp was for. The problem? Wentz barely was healthy enough to practice at Grand Park.

Now two weeks into the NFL season, you’re wondering what the hell is going on. Because Wentz has been fine. Actually, he has been far from anything close to an issue.

Everything around him is looking like that dog meme with flames blaring around him as he drinks his coffee.

The offensive line shuffle stinks.

Every receiver other than Michael Pittman and Zach Pascal have been silent.

Where in the world is Darius Leonard during first halves?

The defensive backs look like swiss cheese without Xavier Rhodes. Do I go on?

This may be the most upsetting thing. Chris Ballard and Reich brought Wentz here because he wouldn’t be a statue in the pocket like Philip Rivers. His game changing creativity and ability to keep plays alive is what was supposed to give the Colts a shot to beat Seattle and L.A.

Now look at what we have; Wentz facing the same demons that took him from a top-10 player in the league to a guy that can’t stay on the field.

Wentz faces injuries in both of his ankles. If he can’t go in Tennessee, how do you feel about Jacob Eason under center?

A rookie quarterback with consistency issues in the most important early season AFC South match-up in recent memory?

Yikes.
