The Indianapolis Colts need T.Y. Hilton healthy and on the field more than in his entire career spent wearing the horseshoe helmet.

An embarrassing Monday Night Football loss, one of the worst imaginable starts to the season with Carson Wentz under center, and a rash of injuries already has backs against the wall going into Week 6.

Let’s focus on a positive though. ‘The Ghost’ is coming back.

Oh yeah, the Houston Texans come to Lucas Oil Stadium on Sunday. Let’s say that Hilton has a good week of practice and can slide in to play. That’s a complete game changer for more than just the offense. It’s a jolt to the entire team.

I said earlier this week on The Fan Morning Show with Kevin Bowen that something needs to change. But who knows what that something is. A specific trait of this football team must be different when you take on Davis Mills’ neck on Sunday.

Is that Matt Eberflus getting fired? Clearly not. But Hilton’s presence alone could be enough to mentally change where this locker room is at.

It certainly helps too that T.Y. has tortured the Texans in his career. How about 11 touchdowns, 97 catches, and over 95 yards per game averaged against Houston?

Let’s say he dresses. Considering how bad Houston is, that can be a lot more. But don’t forget about the 2020 version of T.Y.

Week 1 against Jacksonville (AKA the Jaguars last win lol) he had two major drops. He was nonexistent and looked like a ghost until he caught his first touchdown last year from Phillip Rivers in Week 10.

But after that touchdown grab, he had five end zone celebrations in the final six weeks. Hilton also supposedly worked out with Wentz a lot this summer.

If T.Y. comes back this week, the expectations will be high; And Frank Reich needs him more than ever to attack defenses.
