Earlier this season in South Bend, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish dealt their revenge over the Clemson Tigers in the instant-classic 47-40 double overtime extravaganza.

The Irish were finally able to put the 2018 Cotton Bowl loss to the Tigers behind them.

But now with the series tied between the two ACC foes, at least one more matchup remains to be played. This Saturday in Charlotte, the Irish and the Tigers will duel it out in the ACC Championship Game. This particular clash may determine which of the two heads to the College Football Playoff.

With the Fighting Irish ranked number two, and Clemson at three, could a Tigers team with two losses to the same opponent still sneak in? And is Notre Dame’s schedule strong enough to be among the top four even with a loss?

We’ll find that out soon enough, but you’ll be able to catch the ACC Title Game on 93.5 and 107.5 The Fan Saturday afternoon. The Fan will bring you coverage as kickoff is set for 4:00 PM.

One major difference this time; Trevor Lawrence.

Last time Brian Kelly’s team saw Clemson, Lawrence was still out due to his COVID-19 diagnosis. True freshman DJ Uiagalelei wasn’t too bad in his place. He only threw for the most passing yards ever by an opponent inside Notre Dame Stadium; Breaking Carson Palmer’s record when he did it at USC.

The Irish will certainly be tested. But in what could be one of the final times Ian Book puts on that gold glistening helmet, you can bet that both clubs will be gearing to go when the clock strikes 4:00 on Saturday.
