Patrick Mahomes’ Kansas City Chiefs take on Jimmy G and the 49ers Sunday in Super Bowl 54

It’s a basic question, but it’s one that can get lost in the shuffle – what time does the Super Bowl actually start?

6:30 p.m. EST is approximately when kickoff will happen and the cell phone flashes will be snapping across Hard Rock Stadium this Sunday night.

Yes, it is a Sunday night game, but it’s not Sunday Night Football like we’re used to all season long on NBC that starts a little after 8 p.m. They take the lengthy commercial breaks and halftime show into consideration with the kickoff time for the league’s championship matchup.
