INDIANAPOLIS – Now, a week and a half away from the 2020 NFL Draft, the pundits have a clear focus for the Colts.

Add offensive skill talent.

Of the five Mock Drafts we polled, for 10 total selections, every single one slotted an offensive skill player to the Colts at picks No. 34 and No. 44.

Here is our fifth Mock Draft look for 2020:

ESPN’s Todd McShay: Pick No. 34: WR-Michael Pittman (USC), Pick No. 44: TE-Cole Kmet (Notre Dame)

McShay on Pittman Jr.: “After trading out of Round 1, this pick is pretty important for the Colts. And with quarterback Philip Rivers on a one-year, go-for-it deal, GM Chris Ballard has to find the veteran a reliable pass-catcher. Pittman can flash in the vertical game, find pockets in coverage and adjust his body in motion to make the catch.”

McShay On Kmet: “Finally, a tight end comes off the board. The Colts already have Jack Doyle in the locker room, but they also lost Eric Ebron, and Philip Rivers loves finding his tight ends. Kmet can make the tough, contested catches.”

The Athletic’s Dane Brugler: Pick No. 34: QB-Jordan Love (Utah State), Pick No. 44: WR-Michael Pittman (USC)

Brugler on Love: There is a good chance a team trades into the first round to draft Love, but that could be the Colts or he could fall to them in the second round, giving the organization a quarterback succession plan for the future.

Brugler on Pittman: Of all the picks in this mock draft, this might be my favorite fit. The Colts are looking for players with high football character and Pittman also fits the mold of the power forward receiver who can outrebound the football downfield.

Pro Football Focus’ Michael Renner: Pick No. 34: WR-Michael Pittman (USC), Pick No. 44: RB-Jonathan Taylor (Wisconsin)

Renner on Pittman: Pittman is a far more sudden route-runner than the majority of receivers his size and dropped only five passes over his college career. He offers something the Colts don’t currently have and pairs well with Philip Rivers.

Renner on Taylor: Taylor was born to run behind the Colts’ dominant run-blocking offensive line. Give him a full head of steam, and he drags people. He averaged over 1,300 yards after contact per season at Wisconsin.

Bleacher Report’s Matt Miller: Pick No. 34: QB-Jalen Hurts (Oklahoma), Pick No. 44: WR-Chase Claypool (Notre Dame)

USA Today’s Luke Easterling: Pick No. 34: WR-Brandon Aiyuk (Arizona State), Pick No. 44: QB-Jacob Eason (Washington)

Bowen’s Analysis: I’m going to guess fans will love some of the potential mocks we are seeing here for the Colts. With three of the five mocks having the QB/WR duo coming in Round Two, that is the positional approach many are hoping for when talking about trying to address the biggest immediate need (wide receiver) and the biggest long-term need (quarterback). With Pittman’s name emerging this week, he is certainly one to watch for the Colts. The son of NFL running back Michael Pittman, the younger Pittman is a 6-5 wideout who checks several of the Colts’ key criteria marks. Claypool and Aiyuk are intriguing receivers, too, with some rare athletic traits. Of all the Mock Draft recaps we’ve done, this is the first time we’ve seen a running back slotted to the Colts. This would be a very interesting move for the Colts and only further their already immense commitment to the running game.
