INDIANAPOLIS – When the Colts didn’t announce their inactives right at the normal 90-minute pre kickoff deadline on Sunday, you knew something was up.
And it was with Rock Ya-Sin (illness) appearing on the inactive list.
Ya-Sin did come to Lucas Oil Stadium on Sunday, but after feeling ill he was transported to an area hospital.
The Colts released the following statement on Ya-Sin prior to kickoff.
“Rock Ya-Sin has a stomach illness and is currently being evaluated at a local hospital.”
As of Sunday morning, Ya-Sin wasn’t on the COVID/reserve list. Players are tested daily, with Sunday’s results coming Monday.
A position that has depth concerns is relying on Ya-Sin to be a consistent and high-level player this season. Ya-Sin played 46 of the 50 defensive snaps in the season opener against Jacksonville.
Other corners on the roster are: Kenny Moore, Xavier Rhodes, T.J. Carrie and Isaiah Rodgers.
