Ignore the fake “schedule leaks” floating around on social media. We’ll all find out the real Colts schedule Thursday night right around 8pm. We know who the opponents will be both home and away, we just don’t know the times and dates for them. Will the NFL schedule gods finally bless the Colts with some primetime games? Probably. But the real question is if those games will actually be played at Lucas Oil Stadium, which hasn’t hosted a Sunday or Monday night primetime game since 2015. The only other team to hold that “honor”? The routinely bottom of the barrel Jacksonville Jaguars. If you follow owner Jim Irsay on Twitter, he seems overly optimistic this year that the Colts are finally getting some primetime home love:

We’ll wait and see what happens tonight but the Colts definitely have a few intriguing home match-ups that should entice the networks. There’s the division game between the Titans that could get some attention as well as Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs coming to town, Justin Herbert and the Chargers, the return of Carson Wentz when the Commanders stop in and passionate fan bases in the Eagles and Steelers.
Plenty of intrigue for sure. So why haven’t the Colts gotten the national primetime home showcase like other teams? They’ve had Andrew Luck, Philip Rivers, Carson Wentz and now Matt Ryan under center which is a better four-pack of QBs than most franchises have in their history. On Thursday’s Kevin & Query, the guys debated why the Colts share that awful statistic with the Jaguars when plenty of other teams like the Bengals up until Joe Burrow, the Lions and Washington have ended up with more home games showcased on national TV than Indianapolis.
