It may not be a statue, but Reggie Miller is getting his own showing of gratitude and appreciation – a mural.
That’s right, when you’re heading on Michigan Street and Mass Ave. in downtown Indianapolis in a month or two from now, you’ll see a larger than life mural of Indiana’s favorite Pacer.

A Reggie Miller mural — featuring a 7-foot basketball and a 3-foot sweatband on the left wrist of the Indiana Pacers icon — will be painted on a Downtown office building.
Artist Pamela Bliss, whose work includes the Kurt Vonnegut mural along Mass Ave., plans to begin work on her depiction of the Basketball Hall of Famer this week.
The completed mural will occupy a 60-foot by 15-foot windowless margin on the east side of a building nicknamed “the Mich” at 127 E. Michigan St.
It’s been a solid year for Reggie Miller Indianapolis.
Over the summer, the Children’s Museum opened up their sports legends experience featuring statues of Reggie Wayne, Larry Bird, Slick Leonard, and yes, Reggie Miller.
In some ways, a giant mural on the side of a building is bigger (no pun intended) and cooler than a statue. A lot of times statues don’t even do justice to the person they’re honoring.
