CINCINNATI, Ohio — A fan-favorite among Cincinnati Reds fans is on the move.

Tucker Barnhart, a Brownsburg, Indiana native, has been a catcher in the Reds organization his entire career. However, on Wednesday, the team announced they are trading Barnhart to the Detroit Tigers.

Barnhart had previously mentioned he had a hunch that 2021 was his final season with the Reds, as his contract ended this year. He told “The Ride with JMV” on 107.5 The Fan in Indianapolis that he and his family had packed up their house in Cincinnati in September and rented a U-Haul to move their stuff back to Indiana.

In his time with the Reds, Barnhart won two Gold Glove awards, in 2017 and 2020.
