BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — The 13th-ranked Indiana Hoosiers defeated the #23 Michigan Wolverines 28-21 on Saturday at Memorial Stadium in Bloomington.

The Hoosiers would score first and lead for the majority of the game off of 342 passing yards and three touchdown passes from senior quarterback Michael Penix, Jr.

Stevie Scott added 97 rushing yards on 24 carries and two touchdowns, while Ty Fryfogle hauled in seven passes from Penix for 142 yards and a touchdown.

The Hoosiers defense had two key interceptions in the second half of Michigan quarterback Joe Melton to help secure the win.

The win for Indiana is their first win over Michigan since October of 1987 under then-head coach Bill Mallory. The win also puts Indiana in a position to be ranked in the top ten of the AP Top 25 for the first time since the 1960’s.

The Hoosiers are 3-0 and will go on the road to face Michigan State in East Lansing next weekend.
